A graduate of the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the \u00c9cole R\u00e9gionale des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, Fabien Verschaere took part in a cross-residency program between Kinshasa and Nantes in 2002. During his studies, he rubbed shoulders with the Viennese actionist Otto Muehl, with whom he also produced two performances, including one entitled Le Blues de G\u00fcnter Brus, which also influenced his work.
