Just Alex (Aliaksandra Puhachova) based in The Hague since 2015. Since 2023 Alex has been working on her painting series \u2018Royal Blue\u2019. Royal Blue is a modern day interpretation of the Dutch shore landscape. The sea, the dunes and the sky are omnipresent in her work. Alex brings her experience of the turbulent weather alive in her paintings; color, dynamics and movement, but also her emotions and memories are brought together in these works. The paintings manifest themselves through their materiality, however the works bring a unique experience to the spectator. <\/p>\n
The name of the series of paintings is both a reference to the \u2018Royal\u2019 city of The Hague, where she lives and works, as it is to the color \u2018Royal Blue\u2019. Royal Blue reflects the color of the sky and the ocean, a vibrant and ever changing blue.<\/p>\n
With Royal Blue Alex places herself in the long tradition of Dutch landscape painting, romanticism and expressionist abstract painting. She is very adaptive to her surroundings. In developing her practice she found her resources in sports and nature.
