The dream box
Anselm Kiefer has created a number of dioramas (small theaters or dream boxes) which, for him, are like three-dimensional family portraits, showing the Germany of his childhood. It's your turn to invent your own characters and stage them in the dioramas!
Photography in all its forms
Anselm Kiefer loves taking photos. They serve as a source of inspiration for his works, but they are also a working material, like paper or paint. In his works on show at LaM, you can see photos completely transformed, covered in lead or gouache... It's up to you to use all the materials at your disposal to give free rein to your creativity!
These animations were conceived in collaboration with Anja Hess, filmmaker and photographer, and with the help of Guy Cardoso, sculptor and photographer, who created the little wooden theaters known as dioramas.

In this way, the various frescoes (between 3-4), created by artists happy to showcase their world or their worldview
or their vision of the world, would be exhibited and/or completed live, with their backs to the public.
It's up to visitors to want to cross them to discover them, to risk poking their heads in,
dare to immerse themselves...
There's bound to be a collaborative element to these frescoes: an opportunity to take a "creative break" by drawing a picture.

Our aim is to encourage visitors to let themselves be surprised and challenged by the experience.
